I think Reverend Jim's "Okey doke," is akin to Vonnegut's birds in Slaughterhouse Five with their "Poo-tee-weet." That is, there is sometimes no intelligent earthly response to the horrors in front of us. "So it goes.." is Vonnegut's human response. Not an acceptance of the okayness of current events, but an acceptance that yep, here we all are and there is nothing helpful to say. I fugging love @mrchristopherlloyd and Taxi, and Reverend Jim--probably more than you can imagine someone loving a fictional dude with a laugh track behind him. Poo-tee-weet. So it goes. Okey doke.
